Last week my D800 finally arrived at Vistek. I couldn’t have been more excited to go and pick it up.

I’ve only been able to take it out once and my initial impression is a favourable one. It’s a little heavier than my old D200 but the larger view finder makes it much easier to compose shots. Whilst I haven’t done any formal testing, it’s low light performance seems vastly superior.

I’m looking forward to trying it out at a book launch tomorrow where it should be suitably dark.

Low light performance was one of the main reasons I bought this thing.
